The Event

The town of Musselburgh where Monktonhall Golf Club is situated has a long association with the game of golf having hosted The Open Championship on the links course on six occasions in

the 1870’s and 1880’s. The town can also boast having five Open Champions, who between them, won eleven championships – more than any other town.

A beautiful day on the Musselburgh course saw only a few good scores the best of which was Ally Summers who used all his knowledge as a member of the course to great effect.
